Marielis Mejias is a Sophomore at Wyoming High School and a member of the wolf pack press. She is 15 and in the graduating class of 2025. She is a member of the volleyball team and plays left outside hitter. She aspires to get into NYU for the acting program. While she thinks going out of state for college might be scary because she’ll “be away from her family” that won’t stop her. She has always “had a thing for acting” and “it’s something I’ve enjoyed since I was a kid. Trying to act is just fun.”

She’s been in Wyoming since 3rd grade going to local schools like Parkview and West. She said she “likes more of the freedom we have” in high school and will have plenty of time to get accustomed to it with her Junior and Senior year, so look out for her as she isn’t going anywhere.

One of her favorite things to do is to go downtown and “walk around and see what’s happening” and she really likes Hispanic food because “it’s what I grew up around so I’m kinda used to it.”

While she does pretty good at all subjects English is a favorite of hers while she doesn’t like math all that much. Sorry math teachers. Her goal for this year is to “do better than I did last year” and strive for perfection.

While she has a lot of work ahead of her she is more than ready to take on the challenges of this year.
