By: Eric Bautista
The Wyoming wrestling season started Monday, November 17th. If you are interested in wrestling you should definitely consider joining.
“Wrestling will teach you balance and if you can make it through wrestling, you can make it through anything in life,” senior Khiayri Jakubowski stated.
If you are thinking about wrestling, you definitely should. There are many benefits that come along with wrestling. One scholar who wrestles is senior Salvador Bernal. “Wrestling has been the best decision I have ever made,” said Salvador. “If you work hard enough at something, you will get better”.
Not only does wrestling have great benefits, but you can also develop great friendships. One student who has found many friends through wrestling is Andres Bernal.
“Wrestling helped me build new relationships and get into the best shape of my life,” said Bernal.
Along with this, wrestling can help build discipline and the understanding of hard work. These are really important life skills that you can carry on with you into your future endeavors you partake in.
Andres Bernal states “Wrestling has taught me that hard work pays off”, At the start of wrestling, Andres Bernal was nowhere near as good as he is now. It is because of the discipline that wrestling has taught him that has gotten him where he is today.
If you are thinking of why you should wrestle, it helps not only your physical strength, but also your mental toughness. “Wrestling has taught me that hard work pays off,” Andres Bernal stated.
Salvador Bernal has stated that “Wrestling can grow someone’s confidence and allow them to consistently improve in at least one aspect of their life.”
If you are wondering what a practice is like, it is difficult, as it is hard being a wrestler. However, hard does not mean impossible.
“Wrestling is sweat and hard work,” Khiayri Jakubowski confessed. “However, it can be very fun at times and they help build your character.”
If you or someone you know is wondering about wrestling and when it starts, well, it already has. But, you are still welcome to join wrestling: all you need is a physical on file, and availability as wrestling runs after school Monday through Friday.
