There are four types of events. Sprints are a popular event to most people. It is very intense and also very hyped up. There are 200 meters, 100 meters, and 70 meters. These are very quick races that can last from around 7 seconds to 25 seconds depending on the race.
Distance is a fun and a very tiring type of event. It is also very intense and can oftentimes end up in close races. It consists of the 1500 meter, 800 meter, and the 400 meter. Some people think that the 400 meters should be considered as a sprint but most agree that it is distance. The races can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 50 seconds or possibly less.
Field events are quick and interesting to watch. It consists of shot put, long jump, high jump, and pole vault. The most interesting event that people find more interest in is the high jump so many personal records are broken in these events.
For Hurdles there is the 300 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters, and 60 meters. It is very fascinating to see people able to consistently jump over these hurdles and the races are always close. This event is also very popular to some people.
