I really enjoy writing, and I always have. My favorite subject is English, and I joined journalism so I could spend an entire class doing something I’m passionate about. I also like writing poetry and fiction, much more than writing reports or essays about facts and evidence.
Outside of school, I do competitive dance through Kathy’s Dance Company. I participate in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. Dancing is one of my favorite things to do; it is especially freeing, and I love performing on stage in front of many people. In the past, when I was younger, I did competitive cheerleading through Champion Force, making it to level 6 at about only 9 years old. From that experience, I now know how to do several flips, jumps, and techniques in dancing, and am comfortable with being in front of a stadium of people. In the past, I’ve done several other sports as well, such as soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball, XC, track and field, and softball.
At home, I like to draw, dance, play video games, watch anime, bake, read, and work out, all while listening to music. I am a fan of many genres of music, but I especially enjoy “divorced dad music,” which consists of older, nostalgic rock and grunge music from the 90s and early 2000s. I also like Japanese pop and rock music, especially from anime I really like. Some of my favorite anime are Fruits Basket, Death Note, Chainsaw Man, Tokyo Ghoul, and Future Diary.
