Wolf Pack Press

D’Leeth Gayot-Ramirez

“Say Cheese!” is something my friends and family hear almost every time we hang out. I’m the only one who carries around a digital camera, ready to capture moments before they disappear from my mind. Whether it’s a big family event or a random after school trip to grab strawberry lemonade boba from Kung Fu Tea, I love freezing memories in time. Many people say, “live in the moment,” and I do, but I also like capturing it with a photo so I can look back and relive the feelings that came with it. Photography allows me to tell stories without using words, which is a bit silly considering that I’m now writing for the Wolf Pack Press.
When I’m not behind a camera, you can find me in my room watching k-dramas, listening to music, attempting (and failing) to crochet, or getting ready for my next shift of w*rk. I value spending time with my friends and family, and a lot of what I enjoy revolves around connection. I like to observe people and moments, which some might think are weird but it’s interesting to see how one acts.
To be honest, writing has never been my favorite thing. I originally joined this class because my friends were in it. But as the weeks have gone by, I’ve found that journalism is about telling stories that matter. So far, I’ve covered school events and senior spotlights, which has allowed me to highlight the events and personalities of students around our school.
Moving forward, I hope to branch out and cover more stories, and possibly even trends happening both inside and outside of school. Just like photography, journalism captures moments, except this time, through words instead of a lens.
