September 26th 2023 I interviewed Edward Biesterfeld who is a foreign exchange student here at Wyoming High School after our interview i got to know him more as a teeager but while interviewing him i learned about him and his home germany.and how he felt about wyoming in general a little about him before i get into the interview questions Edward Biesterfeld is a 17 year old senior who plays varsity soccer and goes by Eddie,
Now into the interview I asked Edward how it felt to be so far away from home? Germany is a long way from Michigan. Edward felt weird here but is now feeling at home.
“It’s different but it is okay.In the beginning it was a culture shock but now I feel like I’m at home with different people’ Edward said.I had then asked him if he had liked being at Wyoming /Grand Rapids and if he did what did he like about it and dislike? Edward said he liked it. He liked the streets here in Michigan and how they were different then back in Germany Edward had also expressed he didn’t like the lack of public transportation. And back home there were lots of trains.
I got more into questions about school here
I asked Edward how wyoming high school was different than his old school back in germany
Edward had expressed he liked it here at wyoming high school he said his old school was kind of falling apart and they would have to switch buildings and here we have computers and everything here.Edward plays soccer and got into it because his father was a soccer player back in germany,“I started when i was 2 years old I think it was because my dad used to be a soccer player, I also just really like soccer so I tried out for the team”Edward said. My last question was what his first thought of wyoming was,Edwards first thought of wyoming was that it was boring, nothing much to do, till you drive around.
