AW11 is not only about being kind , compassionate and gracious but is also about leading and having character. When you go to Wyoming High School you learn about what a good person truly is and learn how it can impact one another.
The Alpha Wolf retreat is about learning how you can improve yourself and how the WHS can also improve. You learn and share ideas, and collaborate with people you usually don’t talk to.
“ I enjoyed the collaboration of students and how we can work together and improve our culture at Wyoming High School,” Mr . Doyle said. Not only does this retreat impact one another and impact the teachers that also attend but it impacts the students who weren’t able to go. “.
Although some say the school is strict and wish to have more opportunities then some other schools Wyoming High School is the only school known to have the program and to have the opportunity to go out on the retreat.
“ I hope to continue to do it, the school district appreciates our efforts, it has a lot of meaning,” Mr.Doyle said.
Students at the high school give tons of feedback helping make the retreat better each year and making it more impactful.
“There wasn’t a whole lot to fix because of the feedback that we received from last year,” Mr.Doyle said.
The retreat is to build connections with teachers and students to make the school feel like a family.
Impacting students starting from the elementary school to the staff means a lot to the Wyoming High School staff and community. Later in the year, the mentoring program will provide the opportunity for the high school students to become an example to the younger ones. “ What I like most is whenever we can impact our pups and help them understand AW11 before coming here,” Mr.Doyle said.
