This year’s Class of 2025 students are one of the best yet. It is filled with many great students with bright futures ahead of them. One of them is Jharimiah Harris!
Our student athlete Jharimiah is now a senior here at WHS. ¨So far it’s going good, it’s a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is my last year here,¨ he said.
You may see him in the hallways with beautiful curly hair and a nice style. He is very tall and hovers over people, you can’t miss him. He’s a very loveable caring person with a great heart. He is engaged in many school activities from football to AW11 Council.
Going through your senior year it can be challenging for many students. As they have to worry about college applications, leaving the school, and getting ready to take on the world, especially as a student-athlete. ¨It’s very stressful, your body hurts and you don’t want to come but you know you have to,¨ he said.
Despite those challenges, Jharimiah still takes a positive outlook on it overall. ¨ I love sports. I love it, it helps me as a person it builds character and personality,¨ he said.
Though graduation may be months away Jharimiah knows the importance of applying early and setting a plan for after high school. ¨I want to go to GRCC for about 2 years because it is free, then after that get my GPA up a little higher and go to GVSU,¨ he said.
Not only is he already thinking about future plans outside of school he also has a plan to make his mark during the time left here at WHS. ¨I want to graduate with all As this year, try to help the school with positively, and make my mark before I leave,¨ he said
Jharimiah Harris has experienced many wonderful things here at WHS. One of his favorite parts is the AW11 Retreats. ¨Nice to learn about ways to help the school, a wonderful experience to be a part of, and I’m glad I got to go on it in the last couple years so far, really warm and really welcoming,¨ he said.
For any underclassmen looking for advice, Jharimiah is a great person to talk to. ¨Don’t fall behind, don’t give up. You have a few more years going by fast, and I know you hear that all the time because I heard it all the time. But it goes by in a split second,¨ he said.
That’s Jharimiah Harris, one of your Class of 2025 graduates this year! Come back to learn more about other seniors here at WHS.
