Once upon a memory,
There was a ghost.
Her name was Emily,
And she lived right near the coast.
She never wailed or cried,
But she looked like a deserted bride.
She would just stare with her deep blue eyes,
Sometimes I wonder how she died.
Every time I would try to get close,
It felt like time froze and declared I would try again tomorrow.
I once muttered,”Why must you leave?”
Not imagining what I would receive.
She gave me a pretty little rose,
And she smiled, smiled, and smiled.
She then hugged me, smelling like a meadow.
I just complied but never denied.
She grabbed my hand and said something I didn’t understand.
“My dearest dear, how I have missed you,
Seeing you is much overdue.
I give you this gift to bear.”
She made me swear and asked me to be aware.
I tried asking what to be aware about,
But I didn’t get an answer because I was blacked out.
I thought it was all just a dream,
Till a rose petal started to beam.
