The NBA All-Star weekend was full of excitement and lousy defense almost as both Eastern and Western conferences let up almost 400 points combined.
To kick off the NBA All-Star weekend. The Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity game was played on Friday. The Celebrity game featured Puca Nakua from the LA Rams, Kai Cenat, Micah Parsons Walker Hayes, etc… Team Shannon Sharpe came out victorious with a win over Team Stephen A. Smith. Both teams had a combined score of 191. Team Shannon Sharpe had 100 and Team Steven A. Smith had 91. Micah Parsons was named Most Valuable Player in the game.
On Saturday the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night was played. The first challenge starting of the night was the Kia Skills Challenge. The Kia Skills challenge consisted of three teams Team pacers had Tyrese Haliburton, Benedict Mathurin, and Myles Turner. Team Top Picks had Paolo Banchero, Anthony Edwards, and Victor Wembanyama. Team All-Stars had Scottie Barnes, Tyrese Maxey, and Trae Young. Team Pacers came out on top thanks to Tyrese Haliburton knocking down a half-court shot.
The second challenge of the night was the Starry 3-point contest. The contest featured Malik Beasly, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Lauri Markkanen, Donovan Mitchell, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Trae Young. My favorite to win the Starry 3-point contest was Damian Lillard. Dame Time known as Damian Lillard was the champion in the 2023 Starry 3-point contest. He became the 6th player in NBA history to win the Starry 3-point contest in back-to-back years since 2007. The shootout was the most entertaining 3-point contest I have ever seen.
On Saturday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse the 73rd NBA All-Star game was played between team East and Team West. Team East starters were Ginannis Antetekumpo, Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, and Bam Adebayo. Team West had Lebron James, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Kevin Duraant, Nikola Jokic. Damian Lillard won Most Valuable Player (MVP) dropping 39 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds and dropping 2 half court shots back to back.
