Symone Gray is the person to put everyone before herself. Not only is she the Wyoming Wolves Marching Band Color Guard captain but she is also president of the Key Club and a part of AW11. Symone balances these extracurriculars while also working a job at the Rivertown mall.
“If I’m being honest I don’t handle it all sometimes,” Symone said..
Symone is a dedicated woman who takes on responsibilities like it isn’t anything.
“Just learn to take a step back and realize it isn’t as overwhelming as your mind tricks it to be,” she said.
While being a Key Club president, Symone handles all the hard stuff.
“As Key Club president I plan the meeting itineraries , service projects , and help move our club forward with short and long term distant goals,” Symone describes. Which helps make our school and clubs more successful.
Symone Gray is a senior at Wyoming High School who has done marching band and color guard. In the concert band Symone plays the tenor saxophone and is in wind ensemble. Symone is in the color guard and received an award for it as well.
Marching band has created good and healthy relationships with Symone with the music and performing to the people in the band.
“Marching Band genuinely became a family to me,” she said. “You have people you like and people you don’t , but at the end of the day you work together.”
Not only is Symone dedicated to Key Club, but she also has her heart set on college. Symone will be graduating in May of 2024. “I’m more nervous but also excited to graduate but I just hope whatever i do between the summer and next fall it changes my life and it’s something I enjoy,” Symone said.
Symone is planning on becoming a History or English teacher for middle school or high school.
“I want to go to Michigan State,” she said. “They have a great education program and overall they have a pretty good school anyway.”
Symone is a hardworking student and she has one main idea on how the Wyoming High School can change for the better. “ I want to change the way our school gets involved within each other,” she said. “I think our school is separated by clubs and sports and music sometimes and I’d like to see everyone come together more and connect and see that we have more similarities than differences.”
Symone is a kind , respectful , and overall really good student and is trying to do everything she possibly can before she finishes her one and only senior year of high school.
