Why Kendrick is the GOAT
Kendrick Lamar is undoubtedly one of the greatest rappers of this generation. The way he raps about many different struggles and perception of life in his lyrics. The recognition he gets for his work and albums. Dropping banger after banger.Man is on a league of his own. Hitting many topics covering a broad range of his listeners.
One of his realest and a greatly overlooked albums is Mr. Morle & The Big Steppers or for short MMATBS has to be greatly depreciated. He talks about family and personal problems and his journey through his therapy session. He also is talking about different cultures society faces today, like cancel culture and the LGBTQ community. Keeping the words he says not only to the people that can relate to him but also to the people that understand what he is trying to say.
There is one song that I feel stands out to me the most in the album that took quite a while to grow on me. On “Mirror” Kendrick speaks about having to struggle to understand way is it we do that thing we do why people chose themselves than have to got through someone else problems and when you finally let all of that go and decide to work on yourself
The amount of people that think this album is mid is actually crazy. Songs like “Silent Hill” and “Savior (interlude)” which are some heavy hitter and all around great music to listen to when you feel like fighting your demons or something.
All the work he put into the I feel is really under appreciated considering there was a 5 years gap since his previous album. Many people had huge expectations through that time and when the album dropped many felt as if it wasn’t at the level of his past 2 albums.
Like I know all his work is amazing like TPAB and DAMN. are masterpieces and great but due to these two this one is overlooked a lot. Honestly, 9/10 album, would recommend
