Modern Warfare 2 Review

Modern Warfare 2 is mainly a 1st person shooter with some game aspects with 3rd person. Call of Duty is infamously known in the gaming community and the idea of Call of Duty has been around since the first COD in 2003 and this is the 19th game in the Call of Duty franchise. The game has a high variety of different multiplayer game modes and has an amazing campaign which is a little different story this year. The sheer amount of customization and personalization that comes with this game is plain satisfying especially when it comes to all of the settings on console.
Many peoples opinion on this game aligns with my opinion and here is one example from Digital Chumps critics is,”Despite many woes at launch, players are treated to top-notch gameplay and movement that continues to satisfy, especially now that weapon stats can be adjusted in granular ways. And with more content to come, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is sure to satisfy.” While there are some opinions like this other people don’t quite like the game as much as you can see in this quote from Vgames critics,”Call of Duty is bouncing back after a terrible last entry to give us a very good FPS. The campaign lacks the punch that gave the original game its legendary status, but the multiplayer modes are fun, engaging and miles better than Vanguard.”
When it comes to this game’s actual game mechanics for me the movement has been the most satisfying and authentic feel for a Call of Duty boots on the floor shooting game. Some of the movement mechanics consist of dolphin diving, Tactical sprinting, and snaking. Dolphin diving is basically you just diving out to the floor, for cover, or diving off a high place. Tactical sprint is a faster version of sprinting that changes the animation of the gun while you run. Snaking is an important tactic that allows you to crouch up and down on some cover making it really hard for the enemy to see you and hit you and this gives you a massive advantage.
The long list of game modes that mw2 consists of are team deathmatch, free for all, Domination, Invasion, Ground war, prisoner rescue, knock out, hardpoint, search and destroy, control, headquarters, kill confirmed, gunfight, infected, gungame, bounty, grind, warzone, raid, and campaign. The wide variety of games give you a lot of options when it comes to “your type of game.” If you are more of a player that sits back instead of flying at enemies head first there are all types of modes for your type of playstyle.
All 15 years of this game has come to MW2, and the graphics and everything about how the gun shoots and aims are so well because of how much calibrations and tuning the developers have done over the years that it makes you want to raise your weapon class as your own child. This game is not perfect and has many little glitches, the story isn’t really a story it’s more just great missions that will amaze you but as far as story it’s lacking a little, and some basic statistics that don’t show for certain gaming devices. Another thing I slightly dislike about the game but don’t really care about is the menu system and all of the confusing menus that you have to unravel to finally get to what you want to play or change something is annoying.Overall this year for MW2 has been really good and this game is definitely the best shooter game out right now.
Warzone is a battle royale version of Call of Duty and it’s an all out battle till the last team is standing. The health mechanic is a little different than multiplayer because you need shields to replenish your armor. Through a series of communication, movement, and gun skill the best team will be the last ones standing and receive a victory. Warzone is exhilarating because of the fact that you really only have 1 life and a chance at redemption in the gulag. The gulag is the prison camp you go to after you die in game and you have to 1v1 someone and win to be able to be redeployed. There are many different warzone maps and different modes of warzone like resurgence and dmz. The maps are Vondel, Ashiki island, and Al mazrah. Resurgence is when you can redeploy as long as your teammate is alive and stays alive for a certain amount of seconds before you can get back in.
