What are the Tigers Thinking?

Have you ever wanted to be disappointed and watch an awful baseball team. Well that is how the Detroit Tigers performed this last season in the MLB. But, there future is still somewhat bright as the organization finally fired Al Avila who has been a horrible general manager and a hindrance to the team.
The tigers still have a chance to bounce back the next year and the years after. Many fans will be in the stadium to see Miggy’s farewell tour. With Miguel Cabrera leaving that will free up more cap space so the Tigers can sign some younger players or get some huge free agency targets. I think that Miguels time to retire has been overdue even though I love him as a player and a person.
Aj Hinch has something to say for other baseball teams. “We’re going to re-establish ourselves as a winning franchise and develop a winning culture.” Aj hinch is the coach for the Detroit Tigers who although underperforming last year they made the best with what was given. In my opinion the tigers have one of the youngest and best pitching rotations in the league while healthy. But, last year the tigers were missing three starting pitchers due to tommy john surgery. These players include Cy Young(the Cy Young award is given to the best pitchers in baseball for the year) candidate Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize. The last of the three threw for a no hitter in the 2021 season before his season was cut short.
The tigers have been an absolute snore in the offseason so far but they have made some important moves. In my opinion the greatest moves the tigers have made was getting rid of three players who had no business and underperformed in the Al Avila era. These players include Jeimer Candelario, Willi Castro and Harold Castro. These three were not only terrible at the plate but embarrassing to the tigers franchise making teams like the Kansas City Royals look like the best of the best against us.
Also, signing two younger pitchers with Matthew Boyd and Michael Lorenzen. Unfortunately, the most exciting move we have done is trading away two time all star Gregory Soto just when he was becoming an elite closer in the league. But, on the bright side we acquired a few younger prospects that are decent at hitting but better than most on the tigers. Matt Vierling and Nick Maton were some of who we acquired in the trade.
The tigers offseason has been underwhelming and boring and I think we will be even worse than last year. Being a Detroit Sports fan is the worst as most teams always suck but the lions are on the come up. Maybe by some miracle the tigers will make the playoffs for Miggy’s farewell tour.
