Hi, I’m Aaron Hurst and I like to write. But if I don’t like the content of what I’m required to write, then I find it hard to enjoy writing. There’s no in-between. I decided to take Journalism because I’ve taken others of Mr. Cornell’s writing classes and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them. But also in a bustling school of students, I feel like it’s hard to get your voice heard (not to mention we’re all wearing masks so things are bound to be muffled!). Writing for the school newspaper is a great way for those voices to be heard. I believe everyone has an opinion that is worth expressing. Yes I may not always agree with your opinion, and others may feel the same way, but it is important to know that the things you believe are valid.

Other than that, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m in my senior year of high school and it is not like High School Musical made it seem like it would be. But I’m trying to keep an open mind that things will get better, and the times will become precedented again (which by the way, what does that word even mean? Like was it a word before COVID or did we just make that up? Anyway..) I plan on attending GRCC in the fall for photography and further transferring to GVSU for video production.

When I’m not at school, I’m usually at home watching YouTube, playing with my dog, or working at my… fun? job at Old Navy. Like I said above, I love photography and videography. Maybe if it interests you I can write some articles about that stuff? Other articles you can expect from me are a lot of music reviews. Music is so important to me (literally listening to music as I type this right now). I may even write some TV show reviews if I’m feeling crazy. Except, don’t expect any movie reviews because I can’t sit through one. I have the attention span of a squirrel. If you want to know my favorite movie, it’s, UP. I give it a 10/10. That’s my review. I hope you enjoy anything I write and get to know me through my writings!
