Hadara Collazo is an outstanding senior who has gone to Wyoming her whole school career. She is a part of middle college, and plays soccer during the spring.
Hadara started at West Elementary in kindergarten. She enjoys her Wyoming family, and people have great things to say about her.
“Since the first grade, Hadara was always meant for something better, and she’s proved her worth,” Angel Aviles-Santiago says. Hadara’s friends love to be around her, and she always has great energy no matter who she’s with.
Hadara says her senior year is going great so far.
“The workload is light,” she says. “It’s the opposite of junior year, and I’m having a lot of fun.”
She has strong plans for after high school, finishing off her 13th year at Grand Rapids Community college, getting her associates degree from the Middle college program. After that, she plans to transfer to Grand Valley State University or Western Michigan University. She cares about her schooling a lot, and has tips for juniors and freshmen.
For the freshmen new to the Highschool building, she simply says, “Lock in. You're not always gonna be with the same people you started out with, but don’t let that shake you. You are capable, and make sure to always pay attention to what is going on around you.The grind never stops.”
For Juniors, she says, “Pay attention. This is one of the most important years of high school, I promise you. Especially with the SAT and all that.” She mentions that people should be locked in on doing your work and homework, before you make it a habit not to.
Hadara considers the core memories of her high school years to be going to the Alpha Wolf 11 retreat every year. She builds connections with people she normally wouldn’t, and everyone is having fun and getting along in ways that they wouldn't at school.
Hadara Collazo is a wonderful student, and a great addition to our high school atmosphere. Bringing people down is never a problem with Hadara, because she’s always trying her hardest to bring everyone up.
