Have you ever wanted to challenge yourself and have fun at the same time? Well, Hollow Knight: Silksong is both of those things.
Silksong is a 2D metroidvania, fighting, and action-adventure game created by Team Cherry, a 3 person development team, who created the original game called Hollow Knight, released in 2017. Silksong was released on September 4th, 2025 and is one of the most popular games this year. Silksong has been in development for seven years and was started in 2018, this was Team Cherry’s way of making sure the game was every bit as good as the first game however, this one is even better and is every bit of the sequel every player wanted from Team Cherry.
This game has been so anticipated by the fans that it broke every single store it was sold on such as Steam, Playstation, Nintendo, and Xbox rendering the stores inaccessible due to high player demand and everyone buying the game at the same time. On day 1, Silksong had over 500,000 concurrent players playing the game. Team Cherry is highly liked by the fanbase due to their work ethic, effort, and their pricing for the game at only 20 dollars, they also care about their fanbase. They have made the game more challenging than the first and added a whole bunch of new features.
While I was playing I could tell the effort they put into the game due to how beautiful the world was and all the different enemies they have put into the game and they also added more enemies.
The world is more colorful and bright and has such an awe to it. At times I’ve gotten lost but I enjoy that because it helps me see more of the world that they have worked so hard to create and it forces me to explore more.
Just like the first game when you kill enemies you gain souls that can be used to heal you and bring more masks which is your health bar. This game is so fun and I would recommend it to anybody who loves a good challenge or just loves scenery in games though it is not the main appeal to the game because you need to fight enemies to progress. Overall I’d give this a 10/10 game that consists of 4/10 for gameplay and 6/10 for the beauty.
