Even though Eminem’s life wasn’t easy, he kept getting back on his feet. Eminem never let family or even life get in the way of achieving his dreams.
He goes by Eminem, but his real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. Since he was 14 years old he wanted to start rapping because it's been his main dream. This was because he had a desire to express his frustrations, and a connection to the hip-hop culture he grew up with. All of his music explores the themes of depression, loneliness, and childhood trauma. When you sit down to listen to his music, you can feel all the emotions that he puts into his songs.
Over time he has gotten so famous and everyone wonders what his childhood was like so they decided to make a movie about him. The movie is called 8 mile. It shows his whole childhood and what he has been through with his mother and how life pushes him down all the time. In the movie it showed his mother struggling with a drug addiction and how she doesn't care about her son at all.
Eminem was on his own with his friends Future (Mekhi Phifer), Sol George (Omar Benson Miller), DJ Iz (De'Angelo Wilson), and Cheddar Bob (Evan Jones) in the movie. These were the only people that would stick with him no matter what happened.
When I was young and I heard my dad listening to him, I knew right then that I loved his music. You could feel all of his emotions. When I was little, my favorite song from him was “Rap God” because it had so much anger in it. As a kid, I was always full of anger and screaming. This song would always be my way of zoning out of real life.
Eminem has won 15 Grammys, 8 American Music Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" from the movie 8 Mile. I recommend you try out this artist's music or even the movie. They are all good, and it’s worth a try.
