An athlete came to serve on the field, and left no crumbs! An athlete who always reveals her skills out on the field. Alexandra Diaz is that athlete who is great at showing her outstanding skills in games. She is the goalie on the girl’s varsity soccer team.
She began her journey of playing soccer in first grade at the age of 11 years old. She was inspired by her “little brother, Erick and Jesus Corona”. Alexandra was known to be a forward and was believed to be good at the other positions as well, until she got pushed to be a goalie. “I was forced during freshman year because of previous experiences and no one else wanted to play,” she said. This position with her skills had become a huge help for the team.
Soccer called out to Alexandra because it brought her many opportunities by playing it. She has already accomplished a great deal. “I got chosen for all conference because other coaches noticed me and nominated me. And for MVP (coaches choice as well) was because I was able to still save goals even if we didn’t have a chance of winning,” she said. Coaches can notice her and know what she will bring into the game. All her efforts for herself and the team don’t go down the drain as it makes her a better player.
Another thing to know about Alexandra is that she is also in clubs such as the “Michigan Power Futbol Academy and girls soccer for Wyoming”. She gets a lot of training in these clubs as she becomes a stronger player. Even though she accomplished a lot, there are flaws that she knows must be worked on. “Weaknesses would have to be diving on my left side,” she said. Improving on her weakness will make her a greater player. Her strengths are “accuracy and creating plays”. Additionally, as a teammate to the varsity team, she is a great teammate. Alexandra believes that teamwork is very important. “If there is a disagreement on the field, it can mess up the game,” she added.
Alexandra Diaz is an incredible teammate and player on the soccer team. She gives patience if the team loses, and knows that there is training to be done to get a win in the next game. She’s becoming stronger for this upcoming season, bringing victory into the cards!
