Wyoming’s Key Club accompanied by Forest Hills Northern Key Club collaborated last Saturday, January 25. The event was hosted by our school and we had so much fun and created new memories. While at first meeting new people is nerve-wracking, we all slowly started to get to know each other before the event had ended.
Saturday's events were filled with many projects such as blanket making for people in need, card making for Kiwanis’ 100th birthday, and making bracelets out of string for friends. There was also talent in both Wyoming and FHN. Not only did we do those things but there was also a dance-off with Just Dance and it's safe to say they all had rhythm! Some other things both clubs did to break the ice were to make TikToks, eat pizza, and record a Candy salad video. The event was definitely filled with fun, food, and laughter.
As we got to meet the other students from Forest Hills they also shared their thoughts about the event; Maddy Langlois a 10th-grade student from Forest Hills Northern and the president of FHN Key Club was happy about the event turnout and made new memories.“This event has been really fun so far, and I’ve liked all of the workshops”, said Maddy. “I would love to see Forest Hills Northern and Wyoming collab again.”
Another student from Forest Hills Northern, RJ Langen, a senior and also Lieutenant Governor of our Club Division expressed his satisfaction with the event. “Yes, it's been great! I think if next year Forest Hills hosted this event, it would be awesome if Wyoming also came over to our school,” said RJ.
As you may know, Tina Vo, a junior at Wyoming, is our Key Club's President. She shared how thankful she was to everyone because the event couldn't have happened without the members and officers. “I have loved this event so far, setting it up was definitely challenging and stressful but I feel like this event has been really beneficial for everyone to come together and connect,” said Tina. “I think the most amazing part about this event was how all different looks of the community came together all for one cause. I would love collaboration with Forest Hills, I love the people there and the people there are very spirited.”
Wyoming is such a good place to make friends and collaborate with one another. When we use outside collaborations for the benefit of the community it makes our school and community a better place to be in.
