UPDATE: THE DANCE HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO LOW TICKET SALES.
Wyoming seniors have decided that this SnowBall dance is not for them.
Dances are an integral part of some teenagers’ high school years. As we approach the SnowBall, many seniors have made it clear that they will not attend this winter dance.
Many say seniors overreact and are ‘too cool’ for this dance. This may stem from the senioritis they may be feeling or showing.
Underclassmen are said to be one of the biggest contributors to the possible low senior turnout. Many seniors say they ruin the dance and the fun vibes. “They are childish and do not make the dance fun,” said senior Klaus Eckert.
While seniors may not be excited about this school dance, they say prom is the school dance exception. “Prom is more fun and you actually get to go somewhere,” said senior Janet Barrera Chavez. “I am excited to go to prom because it is my last dance,” said senior Jackie Macias-Abad, “My friends are going to be there.”
However, some of the underclassmen are enthusiastic about the dance. “I am excited to go because I am excited to hang out with my friends,” said freshman John Beauchamp.
Some underclassmen are also not attending because of prior commitments. This Saturday, there is also a theater trip, wrestling tournament, and work for many of our students. “Well, I have a trip to Chicago with my fellow theater members,” said sophomore Lily McKenney, “It’s been a long time coming for this trip and it’s hard to miss.”
