Everyone has a different experience freshman year. The only thing they have in common is starting a new chapter in their lives.
What would they have wanted to know before entering high school? We decided to interview four different people with the same four questions.
The first question being about how they have found the transition from middle school to high school.
The first person we decided to interview is named Addyson Neveah. She said, “Very easy, honestly I was expecting this.” That was our first response.
Another freshman that we interviewed named Trinity White-Threats. She said, “ It’s definitely a process to get used to but so far it has been pretty fun, you have a lot more opportunities than middle school”. Xitlaly Tellez Hernandez said, “It is kind of annoying, it is very hard because it is too much work”. The last person we decided to interview was Maddyson S. She said “It’s pretty good”. The people we interviewed all had different opinions about going into high school. Everyone experiences things differently.
What do you find most challenging about high school?
Addyson Neveah said, “Algebra, because he assigns too much work”. Trinity White-Threats said, “ Probably like, it is a lot of work. Like every day you have something to do. At least you are kept busy but sometimes it’s hard to keep up with it”. Xitlaly Tellez Hernandez said, “The people are kind of challenging because most of them are self centered”. Maddyson S said,”The homework it’s pretty hard”. Everyone is going to struggle their first year, everyone will struggle with something different, but most of the time it would be the work that is given.
How do you manage your time between schoolwork and other activities?
Addyson Neveah said, “I don’t do any other activities, I just focus on school work”. Trinity White-Threats said, “I try to put myself on a schedule, after school activities and school work so it doesn’t get in the way, time management”. Xitlaly Tellez Hernandez said, “I do my work at like 9 a.m because I forget”. Maddyson S said, “I hangout with friends,so i dont have much time for work”. Everyone has a certain way to manage their time. Everyone has something different to do.
What advice would you give to the next year incoming freshman?
Addyson Neveah said, “Do your homework”. Trinity White-Threats said, “Just probably stay on top of your whole freshman year and you’ll have a great year”. Xitlaly Tellez Hernandez said, “Goodluck”. Maddyson S said, “goodluck and study hard!” But overall just try your best and do what you can do!
