First time voters!
The election happens every four years in which you get to vote on who will be our next president. This is very important to do. It will shape our county and will make sure that you get a say in this election. Although It could be hard to understand how to vote or even where, you can find this information online or ask someone that has voted before.
Mr. Cherry is a great example of who can help you make your vote, the steps to voting aren’t very difficult with few instructions you can shape your future.
“So the first step is to make sure that you are registered to vote and Michigan has made it very easy for people to register to vote there’s a lot of ways and if any students in the future have any questions they can come and ask me myself but michigan.gov/vote would be a great to go to learn the process,” stated Cherry.
Even knowing this information some are not going to vote, this is due to the fact that they don’t know the impact that their vote has on the country. Mr. Cherry explained the benefits of voting in an amazing way.
“The benefits of voting are to make your voice heard and to use your consent of the governed as the official government term. It’s our voice and to remember we are the politicians’ bosses and they need to do what we want them to do rather than what they want to do and we just have to live with their decisions.” explained Cherry.
Coming from a first time voter researching and understanding which candidate I was going to vote for was the most difficult part of voting. I have registered to vote, I registered as soon as I turned 18 in September, it was pretty easy. All I needed was my driver’s license or ID number to enter. I’m not nervous to vote. I feel like the experience is going to be fine and non- stressful.
The benefits of voting are getting to shape my future and choosing a candidate that I believe will be a better fit for the United States. If we stay quiet we won’t see a change in any way.
You can vote early, online, or on election day Tuesday November 5, 2024, vote make a change. Share your voice and make a change!
