Did you know that you are going to school with the first all-conference cross-country runner?
Caleb Anderson has made all-conference this year.
He is the first runner in Wyoming High School’’s cross-country history to make all-conference. We have had runners get close but he is the first to get it.
But what does it mean to make all-conference? All-conference is an award that is given to student-athletes who are the best in their respective sports. Your conference is decided by where your school district is located. This means that he beat runners from the OK GOLD conference (GR Union, Wyoming, Northview, Thorneapple-Kellogg, Wayland, South Christian, West Catholic). Some runners from these schools won all-conference as well.
Caleb is happy with this award and is proud of how his hard work paid off. “I’m very grateful for this accomplishment and I would like to thank my coaches,” he said.
His PR for the season this year (as of 10/23/24) was 18:25 for the varsity 5k race. He is consistently one of the top 3 fastest boys on our varsity team.
His teammates are all very proud of him for this remarkable achievement. “He really deserves it,” Coach Pittman says.
