“Who is your favorite teacher?” Is an often asked question whether it is coming from your parents or maybe grandparents.
For some kids, they do not have one and for others it is a fast answered a question. For me, I would have to give it a fast answer and my answer would be Mr. Hose. Mr. Hose is our strength and conditioning teacher and also one of our basketball and track coaches here at Wyoming High School. I have been lucky to have had him as a teacher many times. Recently, I got to interview him and ask some questions.
The first question I asked Hose “How do you describe yourself?” his answer was
“Um, I would say someone who likes to see improvement from people. I think I like to see people work hard and have discipline, and I think I might be hard-working and very loyal.”
I believe that and I think others would say the same. Lena Albanese says “Mr. Hose is one of my favorite teachers and I love his effort to push students to the best of their abilities and I like the way that he supports kids and believes in them.”
The next question I got to ask him was,
“What do you bring here to Wyoming High School?” Mr. Hose’s answer was,
“ I would say I think loyalty and just being there for the kids. Most kids in the school knows they can talk to me about anything and come to me for anything and I think those are the biggest things including building relationships and having relationships with the kids,” I do believe that is true as I can count many times when I have asked him for advice or just talked to him about random things.
When it comes to our school I think kids just need people to talk to and they want someone they can trust and someone that will understand and be honest with them, and Mr. Hose does just that. Sophomore De’Avion Miller said “He’s funny, energetic and very supportive and he always wants the best for kids at our school.”
Everywhere you go there are always things to improve, at our school Hose states
“Our athletic facilities are probably the biggest thing and also I think that we should care a lot more about our kids more, I feel as if some teachers do not think about that. A lot of our kids go through things that I feel like a lot of teachers do not understand or realize.”
So far, Hose has gotten new things for our weight room such as multiple TV’s and new speakers as well as new weights. He also has built many relationships with the students at our school and I do believe that he is a `safe person” and the person they can go to for whatever.
