Grab your lawn chairs and protective glasses because the Solar Eclipse will be visible from your backyard.
As we settle in after Spring Break, we will see a once-in-a-lifetime natural phenomenon.
For all astronomy lovers, on April 8th the total solar eclipse will be visible in Wyoming, Michigan with 94% visibility.
A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes through the sun and Earth, it casts a shadow that blocks sunlight fully or partially in some areas. This particular eclipse has been dubbed the “Great North American Eclipse” by the media.
The event doesn’t happen often, so you must take time to see this beautiful natural event happen. The sun, earth, and moon don’t travel on the same plane. Total solar eclipses are seen every 400 years from one place on Earth.
Utilize Wyoming’s many parks, take some friends, and have a solar eclipse party. You can bring snacks, music, and telescopes.
This event starts at 1:55 pm and will be visible until 4:24 pm, but everyone must wear protective glasses. Without glasses, there is the potential to damage the retina. You don’t have to wear them the entire time, but they need to be put on when the eclipse reaches totality. Damage to your retina can cause damage to your eyesight.
