Berlinda Pablo-Pablo is the epitome of what it means to be an Alpha Wolf.
With all due respect to others who have also deserved the award, Berlinda was the first person that many students thought of when it came to the time to vote on who was deserving of it. She has a smile that lights up an entire room, a personality open to helping everyone around her, and an aura that proves to be extremely welcoming. In and outside of school, Berlinda continues to show the world why she was voted Alpha Wolf with an overwhelming amount of support.
Berlinda is a well-rounded person. She’s vice-president of Key Club, a passionate member of the chess club, and an amazing friend. She didn’t allow the award to get to her head and instead let it push and motivate her to become an even better role model than before.
“My life hasn’t really changed since I won Alpha Wolf 11,” Berlinda said.
“I think it has put a higher expectation on me to behave a certain way, but it usually comes naturally for me! It’s not hard to be nice to people.”
Everyone around her knows that she is genuinely a ray of sunshine and it’s no surprise that she was one of the sophomores voted for the award.
“I wasn’t surprised when Berlinda won,” Yoselin Pacheco Cortes, a junior here at WHS, said. “I don’t think there is a single person out there that has had a bad experience or memory with Berlinda. She is one of the most genuine people I have ever gotten to know, which is why it came as no surprise when everyone in our classes said they voted for her as well.”
Outside of school, she emphasizes the importance of getting to know people, being kind, and just helping those around her regardless of who they are. Whether it’s running around an entire store to find something for someone or if it’s just listening to someone’s story, she does it all with the warmest smile on her face.
As someone who only has another year of school left, Berlinda has figured out quite a bit. She realizes how younger kids see things because she used to be in their shoes as well.
“I feel like all they really need to know is that being nice is a lot easier than being mean,” she said. “It takes so much more energy to be negative and talk down on everything around you compared to how effortless it is to simply be a decent person. I hope kids realize that soon enough.”
Always bringing a smile to our faces, Berlinda Pablo-Pablo most definitely is an Alpha Wolf 11 to her core.
