After 4 long years of changing seasons and chapters, we have finally returned to chapter 1 of Fortnite where all our memories and lives were changed.
The last time we saw the Chapter 1 map was October 13, 2019, during the end of Season X. The last event was called ¨The End¨ leaving players looking at a black hole for 2 days trying to figure out what’s next. After the black hole was over it left Epic Games with more creative freedom to do whatever they wanted with the game which ended up with them giving us more chapters and seasons throughout the years.
Recently, in chapter 4 season 4 there was a hint of the old map coming back due to a loading screen with a time machine that had the date 2018, 07, 12.
After people saw this there were many conspiracy theories on what was going to happen and if the old map was coming back. Eventually, leakers got their hands on the files and released them to the public telling us the OG map is finally making a return. So far Epic Games has released 3 trailers for the seasons we´ve been through, each with a popular song from that period of the game.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the return of the map and seasons. Everyone loved bringing back streamers and players who quit playing the game a while ago. With the return of the Chapter 1 map, Fortnite had a record-breaking player count of 44.7 million players after 5.5 years since its launch. With weekly updates that will change the season we are all the way up to season X, but some things such as Polar Peak and the Volcano will not be making a return as it is said we are in a different timeline and not the one we are familiar with! Fortnite’s return to its roots brought back everyone who had been there since the beginning.
As of today Nov 21, 2023, Fortnite has announced a new event that is bringing everything to an end. Just as ¨The End¨ event they will be using the rocket that was built at Dusty Divot by one of the 7. This new event is called ¨ The Big Bang¨ which is scheduled for Dec 2nd *at 2 pm ET. It is unknown what is next for Fortnite after this update, but there have been rumors of the chapter 2 map making a return just reworked.

Season 5: The season where worlds collided (AKA Spray Meta)
Season 5 is where worlds collided… and players collided with All Terrain Karts! Take up weapons, Traps, and vehicles that were present in the original Season 5. Season 5 came out on July 12, 2018. This is when life peaked for Fortnite players, and streamers like Clix, Ninja, Myth, Daquen, Hamlims, Dr. Disrespect, etc… Fortnite was a good thing for people because it helped them have more time with their friends. Streamers started making money from playing a game they love. `
Season 6: Darkness Rises in Loot Lake
Darkness Rises again in Loot Lake! During the v27.00 Nov 9, giving opponents frights with weapons that were in Season 6. Also delighted with the Quadcrasher, Mounted Turret, and Driftboard! Take up weapons that were in the loot pool in Season 6, including the Double Barrel Shotgun, Clinger, and Six Shooter. Build defense! Attach a Chiller Trap to your Port-a-Fortress fort, then top it off with Mounted Turrets.
Seasons 7 & 8: Of Chill and Treasure
If you thought Chiller Traps were cold, Seasons 7 and 8 featured a snow biome and Frosty Flights. Pirate camps appeared on the Island following the pol-arrrr temperatures, and a range of swashbuckling gear was on the map to employ. More things will be unvaulted in v27.10, including the Poison Dart Trap, Itemized Glider Redeploy, and Buried Treasure. The Flint-Knock Pistol, Minigun, and Quad Launcher will also make a return to the game. Don’t just move, attack! The X-4 Stormwing of Sgt. will be back, and the Pirate Cannon that lets you launch your teammates across the map.
Seasons 9 & X: Blast Off!
Season 9 brought the players to the future. Then in Season X, the world was destabilizing, fast! But no worries Seasons 9 and X had a ton of ways to play Fortnite that will return in the v27.11 Nov 23. Finishing Fortnite OG strong with the return of weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle, Proximity Grenade Launcher, Air Strike, and Junk Rift. Defy natural order with items like the Storm Flip and Jetpack. (Fun fact: Season 9’s “The Final Showdown” event had players using Jetpacks to witness a fight of epic proportions.) Introduced in Season 8, players stayed rolling with The Baller in Season 9.
