Why the Willow Project will be the end of world

The world is ending, and faster than we know.
The Willow Project is a multi-billion dollar oil/gas project that will take place in Alaska. President Biden approved this world-destroying project on March 13, 2023. Get ready for a whole new planet, and not a good one.
I’ve never been angrier than I am now. I am an aspiring environmental engineer and learning that Biden has approved of this revolting and foul project helps me realize how much our Earth crucially NEEDS us to help it.
According to Alaska’s News Source, the Willow Project is going to end up killing many animals who live in Alaska. It will also kill the environment, worsen the climate, and maybe even cause food shortages.
This will happen because of the excessive carbon it will release, which will be around 260 million tons, the same amount as 66 coal plants in America.
The air and water would then get polluted, ruining it for the animals that live there.
The excessive amount of carbon in the atmosphere will soon spread and worsen the climate of Alaska and the rest of the US.
Food shortages are already starting to develop around the world. This project will end up ruining the soil and we won’t be able to grow all the varieties of vegetables, berries, and fruit that are grown in Alaska, including Alaska peonies.
What’s the point of this project?
The entire point of this is to produce around 576 million barrels of oil over 30 years, meaning 180,000 barrels of oil a day. Ironically, this will be done by freezing the Arctic permafrost to stabilize the drilling equipment.
This will create one of the largest carbon bombs in the entire US.
This is a controversial topic because a lot of people support it. Although the Willow Project will create new jobs and give us more fossil fuel energy, there are other ways to go.
We are slowly destroying our beautiful Earth and this project is accelerating our deaths.
The animals living in Alaska are already suffering due to climate change, which will make them extinct. They reduced the acres of their project so they don’t hurt ‘that much’ of Alaska.
I don’t know how stupid the government is but this is not going to help the environment, not at all.
We all need to step up for our planet and fight for what is right. I believe we can help change Biden’s mind and put a stop to this outrageous act. President Biden is truly becoming a loathsome president, breaching our trust. He is no longer a confidant.
WE need to take control now. We can no longer trust Biden to do the right thing for our precious Earth.

Uneducated teens have literally no say in what this country should do. Biden doesn’t care about others, let alone care about his own health. If only there was one man who cared about our country when we were at our worst… oh wait! That was George Bush. He knew what to do when times were rough, getting rid of Bin Laden. What has Biden done is one of his very small victories, but he does love ice cream so so get along with that. Other than that, I don’t even know. It is what it is. Parties shouldn’t even have been a thing in the first place. Ol’ George W was right. I don’t hate any president. I want everyone to succeed, and this project is making me like Biden just a little more

I’ve been to Alaska once. It was pretty nice. It really didn’t seem like the oils rigs and companies were infringing upon the animals habitats.

Everybody pray for him to change his mind. God can do anything. He does not stop these things because He loves everyone and wants us to talk to Him and thank Him for the project. He will do the right thing. We make mistakes and learn from them. One thing I’ve learned is when I start praising God for His universe and let go. He always does the right thing.

You have not done your fact checking. Your claims are highly exaggerated. Yes. We need to rely on the best science and be careful how we develop resources. I am an environmentalist too. But one must follow the science carefully. We must work harder and faster to protect our environment and save our earth. No matter how hard and fast we work and how much closer we get to clean energy, we are still going to need to use oil for the near future. Better we should get it from sources that are cleaner, safer and doing the least environmental damage. Not importing it from somewhere we have no control over or even knowledge of what it is doing to our earth.
The president truly is an environmental activist. His staff has studied and rejected all the other proposals out there. The Willow project is limited in scope and only to support our lives as we try to get the world to wake up to what we are doing to destroy our world.
I encourage everyone to study these issues and apply our energies where they will do the most good. There is so much at stake!

You need to research a little bit before writing articles about Alaska. We produce just under 500,000 barrels/day as is. A measley 180,000 is literally nothing compared to what we are already pulling out daily. Melt the permafrost is another thing you need to research. On the north slope melting permafrost would be nearly impossible since it since it goes down about 3/4 of a mile in most places. Research, research, research…so you don’t look stupid. Especially to the people who live up here and are well aware your article is full of opinions, not facts!

The next time you need to go somewhere walk and if it is a long distance take a pack. If you have an electrical vehicle be aware that you are charging it with electricity more than likely produced from fossil fuels!

I’m an Alaskan, I actually live here! Everyone thought the same about Prudhoe Bay as well! Let me tell you something, Prudhoe Bay hasn’t damaged the land, hasn’t killed any animals, hasn’t effected the environment. As a matter of fact, the oil companies took excellent care of the lands. Have you ever been to Prudhoe Bay, not likely!! I can tell you that digging up the ore that is needed to make batteries for electric vehicles will be far worse than what the Willow Project will cause to this planet. AND THEN, what will happen to all of the batteries out of the EV’s when they are no longer any good? Hmm, Let’s see, they will bury them in the earth! Maybe you should research that!!! I’m all for keeping it clean to help protect the planet, but your ridiculous theories are just that!!!

I am an Alaskan too and worked in Prudhoe for 20+ years. Prudhoe Bay is the most environmentally aware and controlled environment in the world. Animals roam free and it’s illegal to harass, feed them or interact with them. This will result in immediate termination and a one way ticket off the slope. Spills of just about everything other than water are prohibited and can result in termination. Vehical’s use containment ponds under the trucks when parked or fueling to catch even the smallest drop of hydrocarbon from dripping onto the ground. Some Vehical’s have this containment strapped under the truck so even when driving there is no chance of contamination.
I have been to many gas stations In the lower 48 where people, in the process of filling their vehicles, spill more fuel on the ground in one day than is spilled in Prudhoe Bay in years. Should the cities in the lower 48 be shut down for environmental concerns. I just wish more people would take the effort to tour Prudhoe, see what we have accomplished here rather than show their ignorance and parrot the lies and propaganda.
