My predictions for the Detroit Lions upcoming season

A major event during the offseason is the release of every team’s NFL schedule, especially since this year could be completely different compared to last year. So,
because my favorite NFL team is the Detroit Lions, predicting their schedule may be slightly biased, but it should be mostly accurate.

In week one, the Detroit Lions face the San Francisco 49ers at home which should give them a larger boost than normal for their first game of the season. However, I don’t think this boost will be enough and that we will probably lose to the 49ers at home, so my prediction is a loss. Although, I do think that we will win if the 49ers are dysfunctional and aren’t working well together after a bunch of their players got injured. Overall though, I think it will be a loss.

In week two the Detroit Lions face the Green Bay Packers away which isn’t going to help their chances at all in this matchup and this is also our only primetime game. I think that we will mostly likely lose no matter who is at the quarterback position in this matchup. Unless, we improve a ton over the offseason which is possible, but highly unlikely. So I would think this would also be a loss.

In week three the Detroit Lions face the Baltimore Ravens at home which isn’t going to help us at all because I think the Ravens will crush us in this game and we will be 0-3 at this point in the stretch. Unless, we win against the 49ers of course. Then we will be 1-2, but in my opinion we will probably lose to the Ravens because of their heavy run game offense and solid defense that could probably shut our offense mostly down.

In week four the Detroit Lions face the Chicago Bears away which most definitely will be a win for the Lions and here’s why. In my opinion the Bears are still going to have Andy Dalton starting and they will not be ready for a completely new type of game plan to come from Dan Campbell in week four against the bears after having 2 or 3 losses on the season. So I think it will be a win for the Detroit Lions putting them at 1-3.

In week five the Detroit Lions face the Minnesota Vikings away which gives them a disadvantage, but I think they will get the win. In my opinion the Vikings defense isn’t very good, but their offense is a little bit above average so it will be a tough game, but we will win by a touchdown.

In week six the Detroit Lions face the Cincinnati Bengals at home which I think is a no brainer win. I think this because the Bengals have a horrible offensive line and our new defensive line will crush them to bits all game long.

In week seven the Detroit Lions face the Los Angeles Rams away which isn’t going to help them at all during this game. I think the Lions will lose, but will put up a good fight and make it close all the way to the very end. I especially think this because of the energy Campbell brings to the team.

In week eight the Detroit Lions face the Philadelphia Eagles at home which gives them a huge advantage to win, which I think they will. The Eagles are a very dysfunctional franchise and have been doing everything wrong with Howie Roseman at the general manager position. I think this will be like the Jaguars win from last year.

In week nine the Detroit Lions face the almighty bye week, which they can’t win or lose because of it being a bye week. That is really good for me as a Detroit Lions fan.

In week ten the Detroit Lions face the Pittsburgh Steelers away, which have been struggling a lot towards the end part of the season, and the Lions just came off of their bye week so I think they will win in the offensive battle and beat them on week ten.

In week eleven the Detroit Lions face the Cleveland Browns away, in which I think they will get absolutely smoked and have no chance at all at winning the game because of their inflation of ego after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in week ten.

In week twelve the Detroit Lions face the Chicago Bears at home, in which they will regain their footing and put an absolute stomping on the Bears and destroying their game plan at the start of the game. Fields may be starting, but that doesn’t waver my decision of the Lions winning this one.

In week thirteen the Detroit Lions face the Minnesota Vikings at home, in which they will utterly destroy the Vikings in an easy win. I think this is the case because Cook will be hurt at this time and Jefferson will probably have a down year compared to last year.

In week fourteen the Detroit Lions face the Denver Broncos away, in which I think they will also win. I think this because the only good parts about the Denver Broncos right now are their cornerbacks and wide receivers. In my opinion this won’t give them enough help to beat us so I predict we will win this one.

In week fifteen the Detroit Lions face the Arizona Cardinals at home, in which I think they will win. I think this because our trenches have improved a ton and we have beaten the Cardinals almost every time we’ve played them in the last ten years.

In week sixteen the Detroit Lions face the Atlanta Falcons away in which I think we will win. I think this because we have historically beaten the Falcons more than lost in the last ten years because their defense has sucked and our offense has been pretty good for all ten of those years.

In week seventeen the Detroit Lions face the Seattle Seahawks away in which I think we will get destroyed and lose.

In the week eighteen the Detroit Lions face the Green Bay Packers at home, in which I think we will also get destroyed by the future NFC championship losers.
