The highly anticipated matchup between Wyoming and Grand Rapids Christian High didn’t disappoint anyone in the packed Wyoming High School gymnasium Friday night. The undefeated Eagles and Kobe Bufkin took the lead early and Wyoming looked beat. GRCH’s largest lead of the game was 18, which seemed insurmountable.
With the University of Michigan head coach Juwan Howard in the crowd watching him, Bufkin had his 20 points on 7 of 16 shooting and 4 of 7 from three.
The budding star for Wyoming, Menalito McGee, had 13 points on the night and certainly wasn’t overly impressive. Wyoming as a whole could hardly shoot the ball anyway. The Wolves shot 27% on the night.
Diego Ladesma had the best game on the winning side of the ball. He scored 18 points in 28 minutes paired with three rebounds. Ladesma shot 8 of 9 from the free-throw line which definitely gave his squad a boost.
Ultimately, Grand Rapids Christian turned the ball over way too much. They had 25 turnovers compared to 5 turnovers from Wyoming
