Fortnite is one of the newest and biggest crazes dealing with videogames. The fan favorite game is currently one of the most played video games out.
The game started becoming big because it was similar to the popular PubG and was free, which still is.
Fortnite is a survival game that plays like king of the kill. A bus brings you up above the map and you parachute out choosing where you want to land. Once you land at your destination you should loot the surrounding area for weapons and supplies such as med kits, bandages, and building supplies while either attacking and defeating other players or avoiding them until you’re ready.

Personally I would recommend avoiding people until you find good enough weapons and enough bandages and shield to defeat people. But you could risk attacking others and eliminating them with your mediocre gear for the chance of getting better loot and supplies from them.
Fortnite has multiple modes. You can go into solo play if you’re playing alone and compete against 99 other solo players or if you have a friend you wanna play with you can go into duo’s and compete against 50 other duo teams. You can play with up to three friends in squads. It’s much easier to find loot while playing solo because you don’t have to split the loot you find with your teammates but it’s much more dangerous because you won’t have any backup when you need it. You can also play duo’s and squads solo if you feel you’re good enough.

Fortnite released an update where they changed the entire map. There are multiple more named locations to the west side of the map including a city because the westside was previously rather bare.

There are now more places to go and find loot. I believe it’s much easier to get loot without risking your life as much. Majority of players will most likely go to the new locations so I’d recommend going to the locations that were popular before the update because there will be the same amount of loot with less people so you’ll be much more prepared for the later part of the game thus having a higher chance of winning.
One of the biggest things in Fortnite I would say is knowing when to challenge and when to avoid other players. Attacking the wrong people at the wrong time could mean the end of the game for you. Make sure you have decent enough weapons and a good amount of ammo before attacking. Once you do start attacking it would benefit you a lot to know who to go for first and when to challenge and when to stay behind cover or retreat. It’s easiest to kill people when you sneak up on people and crouch when you get within good distance so they don’t hear your footsteps.

Once you’re close and crouching I’d recommend pulling out a shotgun if you have one and challenging when they’re looking the other way. That way you could get at least one shot off on them before they can counter attack. If you don’t have a shotgun other weapons can work just fine if you know how to use them. If you have a purple or even yellow pistol then I’d use that. If you have a good enough trigger finger you can melt people and have them down before they even have time to shoot.
Once you defeat someone or even a group of other players I’d suggest building a quick structure around yourself and their loot so you have a little bit of time scavenge through their loot and collect anything you need and grab better weapons if they had them.

Fortnite can be a difficult game to play and even more difficult game to win but once you know what you’re doing and how you play best then it becomes a whole lot easier.
